Swimming and Diving
Laguna de Apoyo Laguna De Apoyo measures 6 kilometers across and is reported to be the lowest point in Central America at 200 to 400 meters deep, depending on which book you believe. The angle of the lagoon edge can be intimadating with a 45 degree drop, invoking images of what may lurk beneath. If you care to find out, guided diving is available at very reasonable rates. The laguna is crystal clear, also perfect for snorkling, kayaking or floating on inner tubes and water mats, all of which are provided free of charge.
